It was another beautiful Spring day in Atlanta. Spring is my favorite season so I’m pretty much one happy camper right now…except for my allergies!

I have lived in Atlanta my entire life and never once have I suffered from allergies. Cars are beginning to change colors due to the yellowy green layer of pollen coating them. And I’m beginning to sneeze and blow my nose like crazy. Not fun. And not so pretty. Look at these awful faces I make due to my nose itching non-stop.
The nose scrunch that eases the itchiness.

The grab my nose and try to rip it off maneuver.

And the use the back of your hand to rub your nose until it feels better.

Since I have only had allergies for the last few months I really don’t know how to handle this. Can you tell by my weird moves? P.S. I was safely stopped at a red light during my photo shoot.
My sister suggested I try the chiropractor because she has been allergy-free since getting adjustments. I have gone twice now and tomorrow I go back for my third visit and hopefully an allergy test. This sneezing and runny nose started back in October and hasn’t let up, especially now that the pollen count is 2459 (over 1500 means the pollen count is extremely high!)!
Enough of my weird faces and on to some FOOD.
One thing I love about the time change is how late the sun sets. It’s as if I have more time to do things once I get home from work. Tonight we took Moose for a little walk with a fun destination in mind. The Farm Mobile!

The Farm Mobile is basically like a CSA, selling organic locally grown produce, free-range eggs, cheese and sustainable meats to name a few. Instead of having customers order and pick-up a weekly CSA box (like I do with my CSA) the Farm Mobile travels around town. Basically like a local mini grocery store on wheels. Tonight we were lucky enough to have the Farm Mobile stop in our neighborhood so of course we had to go check it out.
We weren’t in need of much because we already have a good amount of produce in our fridge and we are picking up our pre-ordered weekly CSA box from Moore Farms and Friends tomorrow. So tonight we mainly wanted to take a look and buy cheese.
As usual with local farms the items change on a weekly basis. The truck had a big chalk board where they have the day’s picks written out.

The guy manning the truck said they sold out of most of their weekly vegetable supply yesterday. Today they were limited with a smaller selection of collards, kale, turnips and beets.

I grabbed a couple unnecessary but fun items and then Moose, Chris and I walked on home.

It was a two pizza kind of night. We have lots of good toppings in the house and we were craving multiple flavors.

The pizza on the left was our wild one. We topped it with barbecue sauce, red onion, pineapple, a little mozzarella, and feta.

The second, more traditional pizza consisted of marinara sauce, onion, green bell pepper, garlic and mozzarella cheese.

We popped both suckers in the oven to cook for about 15 minutes. That is the best thing about making pizza (on pre-made crust) it barely takes any time to have a delicious pie all cooked up and ready to eat.

Clare, one of my close friends from college, came in town this weekend to visit us girls that still live here in Atlanta. Not long after her arrival on Friday evening we hit Midtown for a girls dinner out at Einstein’s.
From left to right in the below picture: Chloe, Brittany and Clare.

I ordered a vegetable plate for dinner that included mushrooms, quinoa-spinach risotto, creamed corn hush puppies and swiss chard.

Since it was girls dinner out we had to order to dessert. We couldn’t settle on just one so we opted for two. A mocha chocolate ice cream cake and banana crème pie.

We were all SO full afterwards but it was definitely worth it.
Saturday morning Clare and I got up and took Moose for a nice 3.5 mile walk around my neighborhood. It was such a gorgeous morning out. Later in the afternoon (in 80 degree weather!! :) ) we cheered on Brittany’s kickball team who ended up winning 5-3!
Saturday evening Chris and I hosted a little barbecue over at Chris’ house with Clare, Brittany and Nicole. Clare and I took our first attempt at making veggie burgers. We chose this black bean burger recipe and got to work. We even got to use my new food processor for the first time.

I previously mentioned that on Thursday night Chris and I did a little house shopping. We have been wanting some sort of coffee table type thing for the middle of the rug. We also wanted a few new lamps for some extra pizazz. Basically we wanted some newness but we also didn’t want to spend too much money. So guess where we went? Target! My favorite store.
I didn’t have many good before photos of the family room and I was too excited to take pictures of the room before we added the new items. I know, sometimes I get too excited and pictures would only slow me down.
So here are the best BEFORE photos I have of the family room:

The rocking chair sits in the corner year round, but the Christmas tree (in the above photo) went there during the holidays.

And here are the AFTERS:
